Evaluate and treat residents under physician orders using therapeutic procedures
Develop individualized care plans focused on improving mobility and independence
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes? Physical Therapist Requirements (Ohio)
Licensure: Must hold a valid Ohio Physical Therapy License issued by the Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Trainers Board
Education: Completion of a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program from an accredited institution
Note: While a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree may have been sufficient in the past, the DPT is now the standard for entry-level practice in most settings
Certification: Successful completion of the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE)
Additional Qualifications (often preferred):
Strong clinical reasoning and documentation skills
Experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation, or skilled nursing
