Responsible for leading and managing the Fairfield Warde High School Jazz Lab. This includes selecting appropriate repertoire, directing rehearsals and performances, developing students’ musical skills, and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment that promotes artistic growth and teamwork.Key Responsibilities:Plan and conduct regular weekly rehearsals and performances throughout the school yearSelect and arrange music appropriate for high school jazz ensemblesInstruct students in jazz performance techniques, improvisation, and ensemble playingCoordinate performance opportunities, including concerts and festivalsCollaborate with school staff, parents, and the broader music community to support the programQualifications:Experience directing jazz ensembles and strong knowledge of jazz theory and history
