Provides support services for the Science labs at the Kokomo site including training/evaluating students and management of lab supplies/equipment.FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide lab instruction to students and evaluate competencies according to CAAHEP Standards
Assist in maintaining equipment and reporting of needed repairs to program chair
Maintain and control instruments and supplies including inventory
Maintain and verify attendance records for the students
Set up supplies/instruments in advance for lab instruction as directed by curriculum
Basic organization and cleaning not performed by facilities
Provide updated daily information of student progress. Consult and assist program chair as requested in responding to student issues
Participate in professional development such as in-services, seminars, etc. to advance skills
Perform independent research as necessary
Adhere to accreditation requirements of CAAHEP in performance of all instructional-related requirements.
Adhere to program dress code
Perform other related duties as assigned consistent with commonly accepted practices.Minimum/Preferred Qualifications:For EMT instruction: holds a current EMT or higher certification and a current Indiana Department of Homeland Security Primary Instructor certification.For paramedic instruction: holds an Indiana paramedic certification; and has two years of directly related work experience.Ivy Tech Community College is an accredited, equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
