What we are looking for:SCS Engineers is looking for an entry level Civil, Geological, or Environmental Engineer to support growth in our solid waste, electric utility, and environmental compliance work in the central United States area. You will conduct assignments in an office or hybrid setting, with regular site visits and occasional longer-term field work; assist in preparing technical reports, environmental compliance documents, and engineering designs. You will work with Project Managers and Engineers across a variety of solid waste, electric utility, and environmental management projects.Our friendly, collaborative setting is at our core to meeting our clients' needs.   • Follow SCS health and safety protocols.
  • Conduct site visits and performing environmental monitoring.
  • Perform CAD drafting (AutoCAD and Civil3D) and/or coordinate with CAD drafters to provide design plans and figures.
  • Assist with design and permitting of solid waste and electric utility facilities.
  • Prepare permit applications and perform regulatory agency coordination.
  • Prepare calculations for reports and in support of design documents.
  • Review technical documents for completeness and conformance to requirements.
  • Prepare technical reports, proposals, bid documents, and health & safety plans.
  • Communicate with clients for field work coordination, project updates, reporting, design document status, permitting status, and meetings.
  • Conduct and document construction quality assurance (CQA) observations for compliance with construction documents.
  • Prepare proposals and cost estimates.
  • Research technical data and regulations.
  • Participate in health and safety training.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of science degree in civil, environmental, geological or geotechnical engineering required.
  • Minimum of 3 months of relevant environmental and/or engineering internship, work and/or research experience required.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is a plus.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and lift/carry up to 50 pounds required.
  • Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing required.
Pay Range: USD $62,000.00 - USD $72,000.00 /Yr.
