The Dump Truck Driver will maintain and operate a dump truck, hauling various materials from quarries/sand & gravel pits to jobsites for placement, backfill, and stockpiling.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:Safely operate a dump truck to transport materials such as asphalt, sand, and stone to and from sites.Utilize specified fleet app(s) for receiving dispatches, checking in and out, and real-time communication with Logistics’ Team as well as internal and external customers.Complete paperless Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) using company-approved digital tools.Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure timely delivery of materials.Load and unload materials using truck’s hydraulic system.Use hand tools to clean out bed of truck when needed.Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck to ensure it is in good working condition.Must possess and maintain a valid State of Ohio Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), or minimum of a Class B CDL with manual transmission.In-person attendance is required.Other Required Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties as necessary or as assigned.
- Immediately report any safety hazards, accidents, or mechanical issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
- The position will require work outside of normal business hours in challenging physical conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to access and navigate the facility.
- Able to safely climb and descend ladders.
- Must be proficient in basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance of machinery.
- Represent The Gerken Companies to customers in a professional manner, supporting the company’s goals.
- Strong mechanical skills are preferred.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from supervisors while ensuring efficient workflow.
- Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited high school is required.
- 2-3 years driving experience preferred
