Job Title: PVT Engineer Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated PVT Engineer to join our team, where you will play a critical role in improving product quality and addressing warranty claims. You will engage with dealerships and customers to analyze and resolve issues, ensuring that our vehicles meet the highest quality standards.Responsibilities
  • Review incoming warranty claims data daily, including customer and dealership comments.
  • Categorize claims into appropriate engineering categories and contact dealerships for parts and repair diagnoses.
  • Participate in customer callbacks to ensure proper understanding of feedback.
  • Analyze returned parts for root cause and develop both interim containment and permanent corrective actions.
  • Support the assembly plant with Stop Ships/Stop Builds, campaigns, audits, root cause analysis, and quality-related tasks.
  • Lead engineering commodity changes for future minor product launches and cost reduction actions in current production vehicles.
  • Support the Variability Reduction Team (VRT) for specific subsystems and collaborate with supplier partners to address quality concerns.
  • Lead engineering trials and implement running changes for the subsystem.
  • Issue engineering alerts and pursue authorization for product changes to support quality objectives.
  • Engage with technical experts and team members to develop corrective actions for product quality improvement.
  • Maintain subsystem or Vehicle Functional Group (VFG) level quality documents, including SAQ and Top 20 concerns.
  • Present to various levels of upper management in weekly VRT reports, vehicle quality reviews, and engineering manager reviews.
Essential Skills
  • Strong process improvement and lean manufacturing knowledge.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis and control plans.
  • Experience with SPC, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, and manufacturing engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • At least 1 year of manufacturing experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Preferred experience with Kaizen and Six Sigma methodologies.
Work EnvironmentYou will work in an automotive environment with a regular Monday to Friday schedule, averaging 40-45 hours per week. The position is based in a union plant, and vacation planning is recommended during the shutdown periods of the 4th of July and Christmas. You will experience the true automotive industry, supported by a reputable engineering supplier. Overtime is compensated at 1.5 times pay over 40 hours, with shift differentials and double time on Sundays.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of LOUISVILLE, KY.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $44.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
