Research in the Petrie lab focuses on understanding the mechanisms of cell migration. We investigate how cells move and respond to their three-dimensional environments. Our team uses cutting-edge techniques such as live-cell imaging and single-cell analysis to study cells migrating in 3D physiologically relevant matrices. The successful applicant will engage in exciting research. The position will consist of both research and administrative work. Duties will include contributing to general lab management and upkeep, making progress on an assigned research project, oversight of undergraduate researchers, and technical assistance with experiments. Applicants should have a strong background in biology and hold a terminal degree.This is a 1-year, grant-funded position, with possibility to renew the contract.Essential Functions
- Contribute towards active research projects.
- Contribute to general lab operations and administrative support, including ordering supplies and reagents, record keeping, and shipping and receiving of reagents and other lab supplies.
- Oversight of undergraduate researchers and technical assistance with experiments.
- Other duties as assigned.
- PhD or Doctorate in cell biology, biology, biochemistry, or a related field.
- Experience and ability to perform high-quality, reproducible, and original research.
- Knowledge of cell and molecular biology techniques.
- Ability to keep a lab running smoothly.
- Strong organization, detail-oriented, multi-tasking skills.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively, as part of a team.
- Previous microscopy and live cell imaging experience.

This position is classified as Exempt, grade I. Compensation for this grade ranges from $41,120 - $61,680 per year.
