Vector's partner located in Cleveland OH (near airport), has been at the forefront of infrared combustion technology since 1957, boasting expertise in consumer heating products as well as heavy duty commercial and construction heating products.They have a Contract Electronics Engineering Technician position available for immediate fill.This is a Contract position that will last an estimated 3 months (with potential to extend)1st Shift M-F 8a-5p
$30-35/hr., depending upon skillsJob Summary:
This person will work in a hands-on environment as a member of a cross-functional engineering team, providing engineering support for the development of new products and sustaining engineering of existing products. This person will work closely with product development engineers and will be involved in the product development process from initial concept, through the development, testing and manufacturing phases, as well as product lifecycle management.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform extensive design verification and validation testing on analog and digital circuits.
  • Perform software testing, prototyping, troubleshooting printed circuit board designs.
  • Assist in transitioning designs from engineering into manufacturing.
  • Gain exposure to the broad range of technologies including power electronics, analog and digital electronics, embedded micro-controllers, battery systems and motors.
  • Development and execution of test protocols for R&D, design, verification/ validation, and competitive product testing.
  • Management of engineering lab, including: organization, calibrated equipment, testing equipment and supplies.
Education and Experience:
  • Associates degree in Electronics Technology, or Electronics Engineering
  • 8 years of experience in the Electronics Technology field, experience with certified products (i.e. UL, CSA, CE, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience with SMT troubleshooting, PCBA repair and soldering.
  • Must be proficient at reading engineering drawings and bills of material.
  • Mechanical ability, above average computer skills- particularly with Excel and creating charts & graphs.
  • Intermediate skill level for Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience using lab equipment, oscilloscope, power meters etc.
  • Ability to read electrical/electronic schematics
  • Experience troubleshooting and conducting root cause analysis
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to use basic hand tools.
  • Experience with LabView, HOBO, or other data acquisition systems.
  • Willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization, customers and suppliers.
