Priority will be given to local candidates currently residing in CO, or with firm plans to move to CO. Out of state candidates will be considered, specifically those with healthcare &/or athenaIDX experience.The Manager will lead the IT Project Management Office (PMO) through oversight and coordination of technology related project activities and resources across the organization in a manner that maximizes efficiency. Business and technology projects managed by the PMO include vendor selection, acquisitions; implementations and/or integrations; process development; improvement; and internal development. The individual in this role must demonstrate proven ability to apply PMI foundational standards while adapting to the necessary demands of healthcare, business and technology challenges.The IT PMO Manager will:
  • Provide oversight, management, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the PMO’s methodology, standards, and processes based on the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) with demonstrated skills in applying PMI standards, as well as adaptive models, to enable efficient delivery and progress tracking.
  • Balance portfolio of business and infrastructure projects with varying priorities, timelines, and resource requirements. Identify and manage project interdependencies and competing demands.
  • Oversee, evaluate, and report on progress/performance of all projects in the Project Portfolio with components that include budget, timeline, effort, resources, deliverables, scope, change management, and risk. Ensure projects are meeting assigned goals and objectives.
  • Communicate project updates utilizing standardized terminology and reporting tools.
  • Oversee the development and quality of project documentation including project charters, RFIs/RFPs, schedules, governance, etc. Ensure documentation is kept current throughout the project and appropriate documents are archived in a centralized location at project closure.
  • Share and integrate best practices and lessons learned across projects and into the overall PMO process.
  • Ensure governance and maintenance of all deliverables are assigned to the right resources.
  • Actively partner with CU Medicine and Partner/Affiliate leadership serving as a liaison between the ITS department and business units to provide guidance and direction by integrating the understanding of CU Medicine’s business processes with the capability and potential of computer software applications. Manage stakeholder engagement and communication.
  • Empower the PMO team though guidance, support, motivation, coaching, timely feedback, and evaluation.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of ITS
HIPAA Protected Health Information AccessPosition requires contact with protected health information during the course of performing job responsibilities. Specifically, while providing application technical support and may come into contact with any PHI data, which exists or is displayed on the server.Requires 8+ years of IT management with 6+ years project management experience at minimum. Must have a college degree within the information technology area or equivalent experience. Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is required. Broad knowledge of IT applications and technologies is essential. Experience with athenahealth IDX systems is highly preferred. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated capability for problem solving, decision making, sound judgment and assertiveness. Must be innovative and strategic with strong critical thinking skills. Excellent coordination and planning skills with precise attention to detail is required. Must be adept at balancing the perspectives of people, process, and technology. The ability to view and understand business from both a micro and macro orientation and navigate left-right (across topics) and up-down (strategy/details) are required competencies. Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills are key. Must demonstrate the ability to engage at all levels of the business, including the ability to engage comfortably with senior leadership.
