SummaryPosition Summary:Join us! We are seeking a candidate to join our fast paced, high volume Sports Medicine and Orthopedics practice in Brunswick, Maine. This position joins a well-established team with a supportive and energetic group of Orthopedic providers primarily in the office-based setting, open Monday through Friday between 8am and 5pm.-Under general supervision of a physician, the Athletic Trainer/Orthopedic Technologist (AT/OTC) will provide athletic training and clinical support services. These may include but are not limited to: patient intake and rooming, obtaining a patient history, patient ADL care and support, documentation in the electronic health record, patient education, and assisting management of the clinical in-basket.-The AT/OTC will support direct patient care, including procedures such as wound care, cast application and removal, splinting and brace fitting, crutch and gait training, therapeutic exercise. Occasional local travel to Mid Coast Hospital to provide casting/splinting/provider support possible (located within Brunswick).-The AT/OTC will function as a liaison between Physicians and local athletes at collegiate and youth programs. The AT will work closely with the Rehabilitation/Physical Therapy departments to coordinate and organize post-operative protocols, rehabilitation, and return-to-play procedures. Occasional local travel to our Collegiate partner to provide casting/splinting/provider support possible (located within Brunswick).NBCOT Certification (eligible or application in process) strongly preferred. Certification from the National Board for Certification of Orthopedic Technologist (NBCOT) required within one year of hire. Training and support through the certification process available to interested candidates.Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)1. Education: Bachelor's degree required (graduation from CAATE accredited program). Master's degree preferred (Post-professional masters in athletic training or a health related field).2. License/Certifications: Athletic Training Licensure (or eligibility) in the State of Maine. BOC Certification. NBCOT Certification (eligible or application in process). CPR/AED Certification (must be completed through the American Heart Association).3. Experience: 2-3 years' experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer (preferred).4.
