We’re looking for a hands-on field leader who knows chimneys inside and out, and knows how to keep crews safe, motivated, and on track.The Master Chimney Tech is not only an expert in the trade but also a decisive leader who keeps crews aligned, projects profitable, and customers satisfied. This role requires mastery of chimney construction, maintenance, and function (as defined by NFPA and IRC), but more importantly, balancing technical expertise with leadership, ensuring that Chimney Cricket installers grow in skill and confidence while delivering top-quality results.As our Master Chimney Tech, you’ll:

  • Plan, prepare, and lead projects—ensuring materials, tools, permits, and crews are ready.
  • Keep job sites safe, productive, and on track for on-time, on-budget completion.
  • Provide rapid field-based problem solving to keep projects on track
  • Review project plans and closeout packages with crews.
  • Drive project profitability by managing labor, time, materials, and risks on chimney projects.
  • Lead meetings to keep communication clear and issues resolved quickly.
People Development & Safety
  • Recruit, onboard, and train chimney technicians to build a skilled, reliable team.
  • Identify technician skill gaps and provide targeted coaching and mentoring to ensure milestones are met.
  • Manage the Field Training Guide, technical modules, and safety training.
  • Champion a safety-first culture on every job site, ensuring standards are consistently met.
Key Outcomes (Performance Metrics)
  • High productivity – at least 75% billable time and installation efficiency at or above 100%
  • On-time project completion – at least 85% of jobs finished and invoiced within the week
  • Quality workmanship – minimal call-backs due to installation errors
  • Strong safety culture – zero serious injuries and less than 5% near-misses
  • Team development – 50 hours of training per tech annually, 90% of the team on track with training goals
