Job DescriptionSafety Sensitive: YesPay-type:Non exempt, hourlyDepartment:Engineering DepartmentReports To:Chief EngineerLocation:EngineeringGENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITIONThis safety sensitive position (SS) purpose is to inspect construction projects to help ensure that publicimprovements and construction comply with local ordinances and standards. This position willESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Conduct on-site inspections of public and private development projects to ensure compliance withcity standards and plan specifications related to streets, sidewalks, bridges, and drainage systems.This duty is performed daily.2. Conduct on-site inspections of construction projects within city rights-of-way and easements toensure compliance with the city construction standards. This duty is performed daily.3. Conduct on-site driveway inspections to ensure compliance with city standards. This duty isperformed daily.4. Maintain daily log of work performed and inspections conducted. This duty is performed daily.5. Prepare inspection reports. This duty is performed monthly.6. Collect field data for public works and capital improvement projects. This duty is performed monthly.7. Investigate public requests and respond in a timely, respectful, and positive manner. This duty isperformed as needed.8. Operating a city vehicle is required for the essential functions.9.
