Job Category: Property LeadershipDegree Level: High School GraduateJob Description:VP OF SECURITY & SURVEILLANCE (POD - Las Vegas Multi Property)JOB SUMMARYThrough the Vice President of Security & Surveillance the department is responsible for the enforcement of all laws and ordinances coming within its legal jurisdiction, including company policies. The VP is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, controlling, and staffing all activities of the department and for department relations with other departments within their respective scope of Caesars properties and federal and local agencies. The VP is responsible for establishing the operation parameters of the entire Department and its respective divisions and units. The VP acts as the primary conduit between Senior Management and the Department. In this capacity, the VP implements the protection and loss prevention philosophies of Senior Management. The VP is routinely available to all who wish to share their concerns on any issue regarding the safety, security, and general well-being of the establishment, and encourages all team members of the company to take advantage of his accessibility. The VP has the authority to act in all matters pertaining to the protection of life and property of all guests and team members of the properties and in the prevention of crime, and the reduction of hazards in such a way as to minimize risks from all hazards. The VP coordinates with all other department heads for the performance of adequate security measures and usual administrative activities.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS SECURITY

  • Review casino games procedures and theories
  • Share gaming information as issues arise
  • Develop procedures to reduce or eliminate losses
  • Review reports for “slugging” activity
  • Work with Slots and Soft Count to identify counterfeit $100 bills and reduce validator acceptance
  • Review video for identification when guest losses occur
  • Keep Slot management advised of slot scams in use
  • Develop procedures to reduce or eliminate losses
  • Assess long range security needs and risk analysis
  • Develop security procedures which impact the property to reduce or eliminate losses
  • Integrate systems involving Surveillance and Security
  • Follow through disposition on criminal and civil court cases
  • Interact with law enforcement agencies
  • Interact with other casino industry agencies
  • Interact with outside gaming educational resources
  • Develop annual budget for Surveillance
  • Review and explain all items that cause budgetary changes
  • Forecast monthly maintenance expenses as unbudgeted items are added to Surveillance
  • Select, train and evaluate team members, supervisors and managers
  • Interact with on-site training of gaming procedures
  • Ensure that supervisors and managers attend required Management Development
QUALIFICATIONS
  • College degree in Criminal Justice, or related field preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 10 years of Military, Security Management or Law Enforcement experience preferred.
  • 2 -3 years Hotel / Casino Security or Surveillance management experience preferred.
  • At least 3 years supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Must have strong background in gaming industry, security, military, or law enforcement.
  • Knowledgeable about game security with continuing awareness of market environment required.
  • Basic computer knowledge of word processing.
  • Broad knowledge of games and casino rules, procedures, and administration.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations affecting the casino industry.
  • Must know the camera equipment and those methods of operations and recording as required.
  • Must know and be able to identify those methods of cheating games and other irregular activities.
  • Strong Human Resources skills.
  • Ability to communicate in English and to influence others.
  • Solid guest service orientation.
  • Continuing awareness of market environment.
  • Must be able to obtain and possess any required regulatory licenses, and certifications such as Alcohol Awareness Card (AES), and have a current and valid state issued Driver's License.
