- Secure mobile service van keys, phone, laptop, and equipment.
- Inspect the van for safety, cleanliness, and readiness.
- Verify route sheet and collect necessary parts, adhesives, and tools.
- Confirm all supplies and materials are accounted for before departure.
- Notify the team via Google Chat upon departure and arrival.
- Contact customer before arrival; confirm safe, appropriate work location.
- Secure the customer’s signature on the Repair Order (RO).
- Explain repair/replacement procedure and estimated time of completion.
- Use protective and safety equipment including gloves, mats, cones, and eye protection.
- Assess vehicle glass damage and verify VIN.
- Safely remove damaged glass and prepare surfaces for new installation.
- Use OEM-specified tools, adhesives, and techniques per Ford technical instructions (PTS).
- Install new windshields or windows to meet Ford safety and quality standards.
- Ensure clean fit and proper calibration of sensors if equipped (ADAS systems).
- Perform a Multi-Point Inspection (MPI) as required and tag Advisors in Xtime for further recommendations.
- Capture and upload video of repair and photos for documentation/warranty.
- Clean any glass or residue from vehicle interior and exterior.
- Place hangtag on rearview mirror and advise customer of next maintenance steps.
- Complete the event summary in Xtime using Pencilwrench, ensuring all documentation and media are submitted before departure.
- Notify next customer of ETA and update team via Google Chat.
- Return to dealership after completing the route.
- Clean and refuel the van, return unused parts, and submit completed ROs to the Mobile Service Coordinator.
- Return all equipment, devices, and keys to the mobile office.
- Highschool diploma or GED required; technical certification in auto glass repair preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Minimum 2 years of auto glass installation experience; Ford OEM experience a plus.
- Strong knowledge of glass adhesives, curing times, and calibration procedures.
- Proficient with diagnostic tools and technical repair documentation (PTS, Xtime).
- Excellent customer communication and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and safely in a mobile setting.
- Ability to operate an automobile.
- Prolonged periods of standing, stooping and bending.
- Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Requires a significant amount of walking and/or standing. May also require working in the seated position for long periods while operating controls with arms and legs. This position may also require working at a production pace while pushing and/or pulling materials from place to place.
