Find out more about who we are and what we believe by spending a few minutes reading our .The RoleProspect Schools is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and equity-driven Senior Director of School Operations to lead and scale operational excellence across our growing network.The ideal candidate is a systems-level thinker with a deep belief in distributed leadership and a track record of building strong, collaborative relationships across diverse teams. They will play a key role in coaching school-based operations leaders, establishing consistent and scalable systems, and ensuring that each of our schools has the operational foundation needed to support student success.This role reports to the Chief Operating Officer and partners closely with both network and school-based leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesTalent Development & ManagementManage and coach Directors of School Operations (DSOs), including setting goals, monitoring progress, and providing regular feedbackDesign and lead a robust management cadence (e.g., 1:1s, walkthroughs, project plan reviews) to drive team performance and accountabilityCultivate leadership within school-based operations teams by promoting clear growth pathways and distributed leadershipServe as a visible and values-driven model of Prospect Schools leadership, setting the tone for professionalism, equity, and collaboration across school operations teamsPlan and deliver professional development aligned to the school year cycle, including:Summer Operations Institute – preparation for the year aheadMonthly DSO Convenings – cross-school leadership collaboration and shared learningOngoing Training Resources – responsive skill-building and problem-solvingFoster a culture of collaboration, peer coaching, and continuous improvement across the DSO teamSystems Development & ImplementationCo-create and champion a clear, consistent vision for operational excellence across all schools, while holding operational leaders accountable for implementing operational excellence at our schoolsDevelop scalable tools and resources to support implementation, such as:Operations playbooks and systems documentationRubrics for operational health and performanceProject plans for key annual milestones (e.g., start of school)Lead change management efforts to support effective rollout of new systems and structuresBuild infrastructure to monitor and improve operational effectiveness, including:Dashboards and performance metricsSchool walkthrough protocolsLaunch readiness and operational review toolsCross-Functional CollaborationPartner with school Principals and the Managing Director of Schools to ensure that operations align with academic priorities at every grade levelCollaborate with network teams (HR, Finance, Network Operations, etc.) to align central services with school needsEnsure effective coordination and communication between school-based and network teams to create a seamless experience for staff and familiesAbout YouBachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred5–7 years of progressive school operations leadership experience, including 3+ years managing and developing othersProven success designing systems, driving execution, and leading cross-functional initiativesStrong project management and analytical skillsDeep belief in the importance of relationship-building and collaborative leadershipCommitted to the growth and development of team membersComfortable navigating complexity and organizational changePassionate about equity, inclusion, and the mission of intentionally diverse schoolsSalary:Employees at Prospect Schools are provided with a competitive salary. Our salaries are set through a lens of equity, and based on an individual’s direct experience related to this role.
