POSITION SUMMARY:The Supply Chain Cost Engineer (SCCE) is responsible for determining standard costs and investigating variances in expenses as well as working with Sourcing and Procurement organizations in determining should-cost modeling for critical buys. SCCE with proactively communicate showcasing important information leading to insights & decisions. Active engagement with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g. Finance & Project Managers), representing supply chain and overall cost structure, in support of driving category and FIL Corp objectives. Ensuring accountability, including improving the financial acumen of operational partners while driving action toward continuous improvement with urgency and attention to detail.CHARACTER QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Overall driving governance and structure around:
  • Analyze historical spend data and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Work with Finance (& other teams) to maintain correct cost information in ERP.
  • Collaborate with Buyers and Sourcing managers with regards to spend behavior.
  • Provide 'Should Be' cost analysis for standard products.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, clients, and contractors on estimates.
  • Use Cost, Schedule, WBS, etc. to ensure Budgets fully address all scope requirements and roll up to Program level summaries.
  • Evaluate a product's cost-effectiveness or profitability and make recommendations to improve.
  • Read blueprints and technical documents to prepare estimates
  • Traveling to job sites to gather information and evaluate design proposals.
  • Identifying and quantifying cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labor expenses.
  • Working with sales teams and project managers to prepare estimates and bids for customers.
  • Identifying and mitigating potential risks and developing strategic techniques to reduce financial loss.
  • Assist in the compilation of overall project budgets, utilizing estimate input from a variety of sources.
  • Ensure Contingency and uncertainty are properly assessed within budgets; monitor contingency drawdown.
  • Gather key cost data: exposure, commitment, expenditure, potential changes, approved changes, and provide cost coding for all key financial transactions.
  • Monitor & report project cash flow and forecast budget variances.
  • Assist in the configuration and implementation of cost systems. Facilitate the development of user requirements. Understand the likely requirements for data integration.
  • Manage the Change Control procedures/processes.

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Technical aptitude to successfully interface with Suppliers and internal teams.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP is preferred).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Access)
  • Experience preferred with other quantitative tools (Power BI, JDA, JDE, etc.)
  • Build value propositions, business cases and influence leadership
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills (spoken and listening).
  • Ability to actively engage potential customers in open-ended questions in which needs are identified.
  • Ability to work in an entrepreneurial organization where cooperating with others and being a team member is essential.
