
Long-term Internship - Quality Engineering

- Assist Quality team by supporting problem solving, transformation, lean manufacturing, process/continuous improvement, innovation and six sigma projects.
- Learn the root cause analysis and continuous improvement processes at Airbus Helicopters and assist/participate in improvement efforts.
- Update visual management schemes, metrics, and support analysis and tools to assist in operating manufacturing.
- Document 5S scores, housekeeping audits and FOD levels. Assist in compliance with NAS 412.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be currently located in DFW metro area as this is a long-term, local internship (i.e. not only for summer internship period, intent is for long-term work opportunity)
- High School diploma and currently enrolled in Bachelor's or Associate’s Degree program for aerospace, engineering or manufacturing
- Some office work environment preferred. Must be well organized and have good time management skills. Ability to use computers and associated software.
- Requires ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written form.
- Requires use of computer and proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and G Suite. AutoCAD and VBA proficiency are preferred.
- Able to work in the US without a current or future need for visa sponsorship
- Onsite: 100%
- Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. Required daily.
- Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms. Required daily.
- Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. Required daily.
- Equipment Operation: able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment. Required daily.
- Carrying: able to carry documents, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs. daily
- Lifting: able to lift documents, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs. daily
- Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. Rarely required.
- Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer. Required daily.
- Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. Required infrequently.
- Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor. Required daily.
- Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice. Approximately 5% - 10%.
- Walking: able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. Required daily.
- Personal Protective Equipment required: steel toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits; appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor
