The Account Sales Engineer (ASE) drives sales of Cognex's ID and Vision product portfolio within an assigned territory, targeting end-users and machine builders. This role focuses on meeting sales quotas, building a pipeline of complex business opportunities, and collaborating with Territory Sales Engineers (TSEs) to deliver exceptional customer experiences. The ASE partners with OEM Sales Engineers, Global Account Managers (GAMs), and integration partners to ensure comprehensive strategic account coverage.Essential Functions:Properly forecast and close vision solutions opportunities with End Users, Partners, and OEMs to reach the quota goalUtilize the Cognex sales process to effectively demonstrate products to customers and winning large strategic opportunitiesFollows up on sales leads and schedules customer visits, seeking out large opportunitiesEffectively conducts customer visits in a solution sales environmentCollaborate with counterparts from other territories on opportunities that are either integrated or installed in a different territory or where the decision makers do not reside in the Account Manager’s territoryFollow up on customer inquiries, understand system requirements, and differentiate the Cognex solutionAssists at trade shows and other marketing eventsCoordinate evaluations utilizing the Applications Engineering teamMaintain and continuously update project information in Sales BookKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:4+ years proven track record of sales performance in automation or selling machine vision or similar industryProven track record of operating in a solutions sales environment.Uses defined sales process to deliver desired results on a consistent basisPC literate with a working knowledge of MS Windows applicationsAbility to travel 40% of the time is requiredAbility to work independently is requiredMust be able to lift and carry demonstration equipment weighing up to 50 lbsMinimum education and work experience required:Technical Degree or equivalent work experienceProven sales experience and a good track record for exceeding sales targets is requiredExperience in selling technical products to all levels of an organization is requiredExperience in selling vision products is also preferredAdditional Job DescriptionEqual Employment OpportunityCognex is an equal opportunity employer.
