Job Summary: Seeking an experienced Finish Blader Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining finish dozers and finish blades to perform precise grading and leveling tasks on oilfield sites. This role ensures that surfaces are prepared to the exact specifications required for drilling operations, pipeline installation, and other oilfield infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with heavy equipment and a strong understanding of grading and finishing techniques.Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate finish blades to achieve precise grading, leveling, and finishing on oilfield sites.
  • Interpret and follow grading plans and blueprints to ensure accurate surface preparation.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor and manage material flow and grade levels during operation to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including surveyors and site managers, to coordinate tasks and ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols and industry regulations.
  • Document and report on equipment performance, job progress, and any issues encountered during operations.
  • Adjust blade settings and dozer controls as needed to accommodate different types of terrain and project requirements.
Required Skills:Heavy Equipment Operation: Proven experience operating finish dozers and finish blades, including proficiency with controls, maneuvering, and making precise adjustments.Grading and Leveling Techniques: Strong understanding of grading, leveling, and finishing techniques to ensure surfaces meet project specifications.Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret grading plans, blueprints, and technical drawings accurately.Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Experience with routine maintenance and minor repairs of heavy equipment, including the ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety protocols and industry regulations, with a demonstrated ability to maintain a safe working environment.Physical Stamina: Capacity to perform physically demanding tasks and operate heavy machinery for extended periods, often in varying weather conditions.Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with team members, site managers, and other stakeholders.Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges and adjust operations as needed based on site conditions and project requirements.Preferred Skills:Advanced Certifications: Additional certifications or training related to heavy equipment operation, such as specialized courses or endorsements for finish dozers and blades.Oilfield Experience: Previous experience working in the oilfield or gas industry, with familiarity in the specific requirements and challenges of such environments.Surveying Knowledge: Basic knowledge of surveying principles and equipment to assist with precise grading and alignment tasks.Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with advanced dozer control systems, GPS technology, and other modern tools that enhance grading precision.Team Leadership: Experience in leading or mentoring junior operators or team members, including the ability to provide guidance and support on best practices. * Environmental Awareness: Understanding of environmental regulations and practices related to land disturbance and reclamation in oilfield operations.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing project needs and conditions, including adjusting techniques and approaches based on real-time feedback and site conditions.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications in heavy equipment operation are a plus.
  • Proven experience operating finish dozers and finish blades, preferably in the oilfield or construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of grading, leveling, and finishing techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret grading plans, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license and relevant certifications (e.g., heavy equipment operator).
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor as required.
  • Capacity to work in outdoor environments and in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery for extended periods.
