Scope of JobThe UTRGV School of Medicine seeks a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor for teaching Physiology. Teaching of pre-clerkship physiology and related topics; didactic lectures, lab sessions, PBL, resources sessions, office hours for student mentoring; administration; other duties as required. Additionally, the desire and flexibility to integrate instruction across other disciplines within a fully integrated curriculum, along with the ability to work collegially within an interdisciplinary team of other clinical/basic science educators would be considered an asset. The chosen individual will assist in implementing a vertically and horizontally integrated curriculum utilizing active learning, team-based learning, problem-based learning, flipped classroom and self-directed study. This position has a full-time instructional mandate, and the recruited candidate must be committed to excellence in the teaching and mentoring of first- and second-year medical students.Minimum QualificationsA Terminal Degree of (Ph.D. or M.D.) or equivalent with post-doctoral experience in the area of expertise.Discipline Specific Required Qualifications
Preferred QualificationsExperience teaching in an LCME-accredited medical school is preferred.
