- For each acquisition, work with accounting management to assess the appropriate integration requirements for long term operations (fully integrate function or remain stand-alone) and short-term operations (use of acquired staff, consultants or HAH staff).
- Prepare mapping of trial balances from acquiree to HAH.
- Complete required journal entries to appropriately record acquiree transactions in HAH general ledger.
- Work with consultants or HAH employees to migrate Accounts Payable to HAH systems.
- Assist with the process for valuing and booking opening balances by coordinating with HAH External Reporting / Technical Accounting and Controller group.
- Work with consultants or HAH employees to ensure adoption of GAAP practices in accounting for revenue, accounts receivable and payroll and acceleration of close timelines to align to HAH practices.
- Work with the PMO team to understand corporate initiatives and projects and impact on the accounting organization.
- Act as SME representing the accounting team and involve members of the accounting organization as determined necessary and appropriate.
- Prepare business requirements for various integration and implementation projects.
- Identify and conduct appropriate testing procedures for any integration or implementation projects.
- Work with Implementations Director to determine the appropriate resources required to support the Company’s flow of transactions, considering a mix of internal and external resources.
- Proactively communicate risks, opportunities, challenges, and regular updates on progress to accounting group management.
- Actively participate in ongoing company-wide projects and process improvements workstreams, assessing the impact on the accounting organization and participating in the team’s involvement with these projects.
- Leverage experience with best practices to raise the effectiveness and efficiency of the overall accounting function.
- Accounting degree required, CPA license preferred
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in day-to-day accounting.
- Five (5) years of experience in managing projects including developing business requirements.
- Knowledge of home care businesses and revenue and payroll cycles required.
- Experience with SOX compliance required.
- Level-appropriate understanding of US GAAP.
- Ability to solve complex problems.
- Comfort with ambiguity in a new and evolving role critical to the Company’s future success
- Ability to be effective (complete close) without a predetermined course of action
- Track record of being a strong team player who collaborates well with others
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work with senior management
- Hybrid: Remote and office based in downtown Chicago
- Location: Applicants must be based in or around IL to be considered for this position.
