Wi-Fi Lab Engineer
TeleWorld Solutions Inc
- Denver, CO
- Permanent
- Full-time
- Build layered testbeds that emulate real-world topologies (high-density public venues, enterprise campus, MDUs).
- Rack, cable, and document APs, controllers, switches, traffic generators, and RF isolation chambers.
- Manage golden firmware libraries, license pools, and lab asset inventory.
- Author functional, regression, roaming, and performance test plans covering KPIs such as throughput, latency, jitter, DFS recovery, WPA3 authentication, and OFDMA efficiency.
- Automate configuration, traffic-generation, and result-collection workflows using Python, Ansible, REST/GraphQL APIs, and GitLab CI or Jenkins pipelines.
- Maintain “one-click” scripts that bring the lab from clean slate to fully configured scenario in minutes.
- Run active/passive and spectrum tests with tools such as Ekahau Sidekick, AirMagnet Spectrum Analyzer, Wireshark, EyePA, IxChariot, Spirent TestCenter, and iPerf.
- Capture packet and RF traces, isolate root causes, and work with firmware, cloud, and field-engineering teams to reproduce and fix defects.
- Produce clear, data-rich reports that summarize findings, highlight risks, and recommend remediation.
- Own the release-gate checklist for new code drops, hardware revisions, and cloud feature rollouts.
- Track defect metrics (pass/fail counts, leakage to field, test-cycle time) and drive continuous-improvement initiatives to shorten release intervals while raising quality.
- Serve as Wi-Fi subject-matter expert to 5G RAN, DAS, and CBRS teams for coexistence and shared-spectrum testing.
- Publish lab runbooks, API examples, and troubleshooting playbooks in Confluence; conduct brown-bag sessions to level up peers.
- Education / Experience – BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline and 3 + years hands-on testing or optimization of enterprise or carrier-grade Wi-Fi networks.
- Certifications – At least one of: CWNA, CWAP, CWSP, ECSE Design/Advanced, or vendor equivalents (Cisco CCNP Enterprise Wireless, Aruba ACMP, Juniper Mist ACDX).
- 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/6E standards, WPA2/WPA3-Enterprise, 802.1X, VLAN/QoS tagging.
- Traffic-generation and RF-analysis tools (IxChariot, Spirent, TeraVM, Ekahau, Wire-/EyePA, AirMagnet Spectrum).
- Scripting/automation—Python (paramiko / netmiko / PyATS), Ansible, REST/JSON, Git.
- Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and version control (GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub).
- Soft Skills – Meticulous documentation, strong analytical mindset, ability to communicate clearly with cross-functional teams.
- Experience validating Wi-Fi 7 (EHT) features, AFC interaction, or 6 GHz coexistence.
