We're seeking a skilled Interim Accounting Manager Consultant to lead our clients’ financial operations who operates in the nuclear safety industry. This role involves overseeing accounting processes, preparing financial reports, managing budgets and forecasts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. You'll also help improve internal controls and support financial decision-making across the organization.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day accounting and finance operations
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements
- Coordinate audits and ensure accurate reporting
- Support budgeting and forecasting efforts
- Monitor financial performance and explain variances
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff
- Oversee billing, accounts receivable/payable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and inventory accounting
- Apply cost accounting and revenue recognition principles (especially percentage-of-completion)
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements
- Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting policies
- Manage cash flow and daily cash forecasting
- Collaborate with other departments to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Serve as the main contact for external and internal auditors
- 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA or CMA preferred but not required
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience with month-end and year-end close processes
- Skilled in the accounting software, Sage, and Microsoft Excel
- Background in cost accounting, financial analysis, and compliance
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
