Job Overview – Speech Language Pathologist (School-Based):
Compensation: $44 - $45/hour
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities Available)Join our client as a Speech Language Pathologist (School-Based) in Brooklyn, NY. Provide speech and language therapy aligned with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs), supporting students’ communication and developmental goals. Collaborate with families, teachers, and interdisciplinary teams while integrating assistive technology and AAC devices. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in a supportive school setting.Responsibilities as the Speech Language Pathologist (School-Based):
  • Assessment & Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to determine developmental levels and therapy needs.
  • Intervention Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that align with student goals and educational standards.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track student outcomes using formal testing and progress tools, and prepare clear reports for parents, educators, and stakeholders.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with families, teachers, and interdisciplinary teams to support student success and ensure consistent care.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate therapy notes, progress records, and required documentation in line with school and regulatory standards.
Qualifications for the Speech Language Pathologist (School-Based):
  • Education: Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology required.
  • Experience: 1+ year of speech therapy experience, with prior school-based or pediatric experience preferred.
  • Licensure: Current New York State license in Speech and Language Pathology required.
  • Certification: ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC-SLP) and NYSED Certification as a Teacher of Speech and Hard of Hearing (TSHH) required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in assistive technology and augmentative communication devices preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of regulatory standards, IEP/IFSP requirements, and best practices in educational speech therapy.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to work independently, collaborate across teams, and maintain confidentiality.
