
Director of Clinical Operations - State Government

- Lead and oversee clinical operations across multiple correctional sites to ensure high-quality, cost-effective care.
- Develop and monitor clinical protocols, workflows, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide clinical oversight and support for Utilization Management processes, including reviewing requests, identifying trends, and guiding appropriate levels of care.
- Serve as a liaison between corporate leadership and site medical teams, fostering strong communication and collaboration.
- Support hiring, training, and ongoing development of site-based clinical leadership.
- Participate in audits, performance reviews, and corrective action planning.
- Monitor key performance indicators and ensure compliance with contractual obligations, NCCHC/ACA standards, and applicable regulations.
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with active and unrestricted licensure OR Registered Nurse (RN) with correctional experience and additional advanced education/training in health care administration or similar education.
- Extensive experience in correctional healthcare in a leadership or administrative capacity.
- Strong background in Utilization Management and care coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across multiple sites.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills.
- Knowledge of correctional health regulations, NCCHC and ACA standards preferred.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing or Healthcare Administration.
- Experience with electronic health records and UM platforms.
- Background in quality improvement, risk management, or compliance.
