Responsibilities & QualificationsResponsibilities
  • Own the HR function for the Davenport plant and develop your staff of HR Business Partners to become HR Managers at other plant locations
  • Serve as a strategic business partner and trusted advisor to Plant leadership bring expertise in Human Resources and people development
  • Formulate and implement the Plant HR strategy consistent with the HR strategies across the business
  • Identify and hire the human capital critical to the site
  • Manage the labor relations process for the plants’ union
  • Establish self-led teams in the plant – both structurally and culturally such that all employees have an ownership attitude
  • Steward the Novelis cultural beliefs and drive business results through proactive solutions
  • Ensure that all the major HR systems, policies, and programs run efficiently, effectively, and in alignment with the strategic needs of the plant
  • Provide and ensure efficient, day-to-day HR administration and operations
  • Build a talent rich and sustainable leadership group through organizational planning and employee development
  • Handle employee and manager performance process
  • Manage the HR scorecard for the plant by consistently reviewing HR metrics and looking for opportunity areas
  • Help managers build effective teams
  • Build employee engagement and efficiency
  • Provide learning and development opportunities to employees at all levels

Minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master of Human Resources or MBA preferred
  • 5 – 7 plus years proven experience working in Human Resources within a manufacturing environment required
  • Previous experience with a greenfield or brownfield site
  • Previous experience in Recruiting and building robust teams
  • Proven leadership, change management and decision-making skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Must possess leadership skills to advise, lead and develop other personnel to accomplish personal, plant, and corporate objectives
  • Must be flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment, with ability to balance multiple tasks and prioritize work
  • Proficiency at software applications, including Microsoft Office, and quick learning of new technology
