- Own the strategic roadmap for insurance underwriting solutions with a focus on aerial imagery and geospatial data.
- Prioritize high-impact features like risk scoring dashboards, change detection alerts, and remote property surveys.
- Ensure roadmap aligns with insurer needs across underwriting workflows and risk assessments.
- Collaborate with insurance clients, underwriters, and executives to gather product requirements.
- Work with the Content and Impact Response team to ensure imagery updates cover critical policy areas.
- Coordinate with the Data Integrations team to enable ingestion into policy platforms and risk models.
- Stay aligned with the Industry Market Manager to track market trends and regulatory shifts.
- Work with data science teams to generate underwriting insights from aerial imagery.
- Surface key property attributes (e.g. roof condition, defensible space) that correlate with risk.
- Present these insights in an intuitive, decision-ready format for underwriters.
- Monitor usage and track impact on key metrics such as inspection reduction and loss ratio improvement.
- Collaborate with Product Marketing to communicate value and support feature launches.
- Use adoption data to continuously refine and improve the underwriting product experience.
- 5+ years of product management, business analysis, or underwriting experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in or closely with the insurance industry (especially in underwriting or risk assessment roles).
- Solid understanding of property & casualty insurance underwriting practices and the data used in risk evaluation (e.g., construction attributes, roof condition, environmental hazards, historical loss data).
- Experience with data-driven products or analytics solutions is beneficial, particularly those involving geospatial data, remote inspections, or property data feeds in an underwriting context.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and model outputs, and translate them into user-friendly product features for underwriters and risk analysts.
- In-depth knowledge of underwriting criteria (e.g., roof material, pools, tree coverage, maintenance signals)
- Understanding of compliance in underwriting (e.g., data use restrictions, documentation requirements)
- Familiarity with industry trends like predictive analytics, machine learning, and climate-related risk data
- Awareness of emerging needs such as remote underwriting and faster quote turnaround
- Understanding of underwriting systems (policy admin platforms, workbenches, third-party data sources)
- Ability to identify product opportunities that align with underwriter workflows and changing market needs
- Strong interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Confident engaging with underwriters, insurance executives, and technical stakeholders
- Clear communicator who can translate technical topics into business-relevant language
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
