  • Providing tactical direction and team leadership for Optum Insight (OI) Operations tactical and operational reporting enablement. This role is responsible for driving the right analytic outcomes and solutions across enterprise capabilities while also ensuring the day-to-day product responsibilities for core OI business analytics needs
  • This person will lead a team/function to create analytics and reporting that work together in a cohesive manner, enforcing standards and methods consistently across OI. This role is accountable for the product management and end to end oversight of core foundational business enablement reporting while also ensuring the correct partnerships and alignment across other analytics solutions in the company. The initial focus of this position will be supporting analytics strategy redesign work including building out core product management operations ( ex: idea intake, prioritization, governance) and serving as the product manager for existing capabilities
  • Strategic Enablement
  • Own the OI analytics product capability- from ideation through delivery and adoption, working with partner organizations for alignment and coordination with their specific needs. Thia includes building out proper idea intake, prioritization, and governance processes and oversight/management of capital spend, dashboard utilization management etc.
  • Manage product roadmaps and maintain backlog of enhancements and issues in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Champion and drive reusability and correct sourcing of analytics solutions. This means working across the larger matrix to partner across teams to leverage existing solutions to meet business requirements
  • Drive adoption of analytics solutions and ensure continuous stakeholder engagement
  • Represent & visualize data in compelling formats that can be leveraged for various modes of use from dashboards to executive deliverables
  • Champion & Steward of business operations and OI reporting needs
  • Provide data insights to OI Operations leadership and lead team helping transform data to information to insights
  • Lead product development activities including working with engineering partners and sprint planning and execution
  • Tactical Execution
  • Partner with business leaders to gather, define, and prioritize analytics and reporting requirements
  • Develop and manage idea intake, feature prioritization, and product governance
  • Work closely with data engineering, developers, and data science teams to design scalable solutions
  • Identify and assess relevant data sources; ensure data availability, quality, and usability
  • Create clear business and technical requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Manage product and business systems analysts’ resources through the product development process. This includes day-to-day participation and team oversight in scaled Agile software development
  • Oversee solution testing, validation, and rollout to ensure business needs are met
  • Identify and assess relevant data sources; ensure data availability, quality, and usability
  • Create clear business and technical requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Work alongside development partners to design and develop a flexible reporting structure and system that enables reuse of data for multiple purposes and focuses on using data from source systems
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality reports and analysis to enable effective business decision making
  • “Cutting through” and helping bridge the gap between business needs and technical execution through effective communication/translation of business requirements to technical teams
  • Manage Team of global business systems analysts and product owners supporting OI reporting requirements, design, development, and implementation

  • 4+ years in product management, Business Intelligence, or Business Analysis
  • 4+ years developing enterprise level reporting requirements in product management or product owner capacity
  • 3+ years as a product manager/owner with demonstrated experience leading/managing idea intake, feature management, Programming Increment planning and oversight, change management, and feature development
  • 3+ years in Agile development, preferably Optum Scaled Agile Methodology (OSAM)
  • 2+ Product Management experience building product strategy including roadmaps, prioritization, governance, intake, etc.
  • 2+ years of people management experience; experience managing systems analysts and data analysts preferred
  • 2+ years of experience managing product development using Aha! or similar tool
  • Proven experience working with reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker. SMS)
  • Solid understanding of data platforms, pipelines, and governance
  • Proven excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven ability to write detailed product and technical requirements. This includes the ability to translate business requirements into system solutions requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in UX design or leading UX developers
  • Experience working in scaled Aglie/OSAM
  • Experience working in a large matrixed environment
  • Experience influencing without direct authority
  • Project Management experience
  • Knowledge of OptumInsight businesses (markets and products) and OI organizational structures
Top 3 skills
  • Product Management experience/ analytics development in a “product” approach to development- need someone who knows who run the day to day of a product operation in Agile - idea intake, feature development, prioritization, grooming, backlog management, PI planning. Ideally someone who can help implement as this is broken here today
  • Business Systems Analysis experience- specifically understanding data platforms, methodologies, and the ability to write and develop clear business and functional requirements
  • Systems thinking- someone who can help focus stakeholders and their team on driving to outcomes, addressing root cause, ensuring solutions fit “systemically” across the larger Optum/UHG ecosystem
