- Supervises and coordinates production activities, including processes, methods, and products.
- Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process, setting processing variables, observing control points, and equipment.
- Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results of the processing flow of shift production summaries.
- Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
- Ensures the operation of equipment by calling for repairs, evaluating new equipment, and techniques.
- Provides information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, answers questions, and responds to requests.
- Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements, and implementing change.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
- Maintains and coordinates all reports on time, attendance, quality, safety, and production levels for the production floor.
- Communicates and coordinates with scheduling and raw material purchasing to ensure the successful completion of all schedules on time.
- Leverages leadership and interpersonal skills to create a team environment where cooperation and collaboration are the norm.
- Creates an efficient operation to ensure that expectations on standard cost per unit are met or exceeded, and that expectations on budgeting expenses are met or exceeded.
- Trains employees in work methods and procedures, communicates job expectations, plans, monitors, and appraises job results, coaches, and counsels employees.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
- ISO 9000 Quality Management experience preferred.
- Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma process experience preferred.
- Three to five years’ experience in a production or manufacturing environment with progressive responsibility.
- Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills required.
- Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated leadership, teambuilding, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of scheduling processes required.
