- This position is crucial in the iron melting process.
- Remove castings from molds using appropriate tools and machinery
- Perform finishing operations such as grinding, sanding and polishing to meet product specifications
- Engage in manual tasks such as digging, lifting, carrying and moving materials
- Operate tools or machinery involved in casting products including furnaces, molds and ladles.
- Understand and proactively address quality issues as they arise
- Assisting with other duties as assigned
- Previous experience with iron pouring.
- Previous foundry & metal casting experience.
- Must be able to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Be detailed oriented, organized, and willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work independently
- Manually lift and move product and materials up to 55 lbs. through regular physical exertion, including but not limited to reach forward, reach overhead, lift, carry, crouch, and bend
- Power grip and wrist turn, including the use of hand tools and/or steering fork truck
- Walk, sit, or stand for up to 12 hours with intermittent breaks
- Push/pull up to 100 lbs.
- See, inspect, handle and evaluate product quality
- Read and understand written English language work instructions
- Work in non-climate controlled environments, including hot and humid conditions
- Climb ladders and stairs of varying heights
- Wear task-based Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
