- Repair Trailers and operate tools on day to day basis.
- Mechanics will perform quality repairs and maintenance on all Heavy Trailers and refrigerated trailer as specified in manufacturer designed procedures or accepted industry practices.
- Work on trailers, repair top rail and bottom rails, replace panels, bumpers, weding and body swaps.
- Mechanics will accurately complete all paperwork including repair information on work orders, information for state and federal certification inspections, etc.
- Dedication and adherence to all company and industry safety standards
- Perform a wide variety of repairs, maintenance, installations, replacements, preventative maintenance and diagnostic tasks for various makes and models of semi-trailers in an efficient, timely, accurate, professional and safe manner in accordance with all Company polices
- High school diploma/GED preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of repair and maintenance experience in a heavy trailer / fleet dealership or shop environment
- One or more factory trained certifications preferred
- manufacturer factory training is preferred
- Possess own tools to perform work on all equipment
- Knowledge on A/C system, brake system, emission systems, air systems and diagnostics / trouble shooting of diesel engines
- Basic computer skills with ability to use diagnostic programs
- Hold CDL license or be capable of obtaining a CDL license
- Must be able to pass a drug test, background check, and MVR check
- Required license or certification:
- Trailer Mechanic experience 3 years plus
- ASE electrical and Air Brake System certification
- CDL Preferred
- Certified welder a plus
