We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic School Age Teacher's Assistant to join our afternoon team! This position supports our after-school programming for children ages 5-12 by helping to create a safe, fun, and enriching environment. The ideal candidate will be dependable, flexible, and excited to work with older children in both structured and play-based settings.Key Responsibilities:Support the lead teacher in planning and supervising engaging activities for school-age children.Assist with homework support, arts and crafts, games, and outdoor play.Build positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and coworkers.Drive the center van to pick up children from local elementary schools (valid license required).Supervise transitions such as school pickups, snack time, and free play.Promote positive behavior and social skills in alignment with center expectations.Maintain a safe and organized classroom and play environment.Follow all health, safety, and licensing regulations.Communicate effectively with team members and contribute to a collaborative environment.Assist with cleanup and end-of-day routines.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or degree in education or child development preferred.Experience working with school-age children in a childcare or educational setting required.Valid driver's license and clean driving record (required for van driving).Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and actively engage in play and supervision.Must pass a background check and meet state childcare licensing requirements.Benefits:Competitive hourly wage based on experience.Opportunities for professional development and training.Supportive and positive work environment.PTO, health, vision, and dental insurance available after 90 days.Schedule Options:Full-Time: 9:00am - 6:00pm
