- Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position: Knowledge of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Standard Specifications, Technical Special Provisions, and Developmental Specifications.
- Knowledge of standards and practices used by FDOT for construction contracts.
- Knowledge of the concepts, terminology, principles and analytical techniques of highway design.
- Knowledge of basic management/supervisory principles and practices.
- Skill in Microsoft products such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Skill in communication, including verbal, written and active listening.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering design plans and specification packages for accuracy and quality while simultaneously identifying conflicts between plans and specifications.
- Ability to supervise and manage direct report technical staff.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective internal and external working relationships.
- Ability to plan, organize, coordinate and perform multiple work assignments and establish priorities.
- Ability to read, interpret, understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to understand, interpret and prepare construction contract documents, particularly specifications.
- Ability to make decisions.
- This position will be required to respond before, during and following emergency situations.
