- Monitor platforms such as NYSDOT, NYSTA, and Builder’s Exchange to identify projects of interest for bidding.
- Perform takeoffs to determine or confirm project items and quantities.
- Review bid documents, identifying unclear or incomplete aspects and requesting necessary clarifications.
- Solicit and evaluate quotations for materials and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project specifications and cost-effectiveness.
- Secure participation from MBE, WBE, SVDOB, or DBE firms as required to meet project award criteria.
- Compile labor, equipment, and material quantities to prepare comprehensive and competitive bids.
- Prepare and submit catalog cuts, shop drawings, and material certifications for project approval.
- Manage the buyout of materials and subcontracted work to align with project budgets and timelines.
- Act as a liaison with general contractors to schedule work around crew and material availability.
- Coordinate material deliveries and ensure timely availability on-site.
- Monitor project quantities and billings to ensure alignment between installations and invoiced amounts.
- Develop and submit Agreed Prices using Weighted Average Bid Price or new workup (MURK) for added project items.
- Create and submit as-built drawings and project-specific drawings as required.
- Manage Digsafe tickets and Electric Service Orders and coordinate electrical inspections to ensure compliance and safety.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred), or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience of more than 3+ years in construction estimating and project management.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to read and understand construction plans, perform accurate takeoffs, and create cost estimates.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software, like NYSDOT, NYSTA, and similar bidding platforms and processes, is an added advantage.
- Strong organizational and communication skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficient in coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and general contractors.
- Familiarity with MBE/WBE/SVDOB/DBE participation requirements.
- Knowledge of Digsafe protocols, electrical inspections, and construction documentation processes.
