Our expert recruiters support you at every step in the process and as a Best of Staffing company, Sterling provides exciting work with exceptional employers across the U.S.Job Summary:The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining plant production machinery, support equipment, and facility systems to ensure optimal plant productivity. This includes preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, equipment upgrades, and support for ongoing facility improvement projects.Job Duties:
  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
  • Install, modify, and relocate equipment as needed
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments safely and effectively
  • Interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, PMs, and calibrations
  • Support compliance with environmental, safety, health, and sanitation guidelines
  • Perform fabrication, welding, and machining tasks as needed
  • Support ISO calibration requirements and documentation
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma required. Associate’s Degree (or equivalent) preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance
  • Familiarity with: Allen Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, SLC-500, PLC5), Variable frequency drives and servo systems, Instrumentation (temperature, pressure, level, etc.), and 480V power distribution systems
  • Proficient in troubleshooting pumps, valves, piping, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Capable of performing steel fabrication, machining, and welding tasks
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain
  • Ability to lift 55+ lbs. frequently.
