Job Summary:The Medical Assistant -Phone Support’ primary focus is managing extremely high call volumes in a fast-paced medical clinic. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service over the phone, managing a multi-line phone system, verifying insurance, and supporting clinic staff with administrative functions.This role will be on-site during the 90-day introductory period to support training and onboarding. After successfully completing this period, the position will transition to a remote role, with occasional in-office meetings as needed. We value flexibility and will communicate any future changes well in advance to ensure a smooth transition.Responsibilities:
  • Answer and manage high-volume incoming calls professionally and efficiently.
  • Direct calls appropriately, escalate urgent matters per clinic protocols.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorizations as needed.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments accurately.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinic services, providers, and scheduling policies.
  • Process medical record requests, faxes, and correspondence in compliance with HIPAA.
  • Support clinic operations by collaborating with clinical and administrative teams.
  • Answer patient questions about prescription refills and route requests to providers
  • Document patient interactions and provider communications in the EHR system
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (required)
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant training program
  • Certified Medical Assistant (preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting
  • Experience with NextGen or similar electronic health record (EHR) systems

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to work an 8-hour day with prolonged periods of sitting.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to manage prolonged periods of telephone communication in a fast-paced, extremely high-call-volume environment.
Pay Range: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour (Depending On Experience)
