  • The Director PMO reports to the CIO.
Job Responsibilities
  • Set clear goals and manage expectations, working closely with IT leadership to gain consensus on the roadmap and establish portfolio priorities.
  • Optimize the health of the project portfolio by ensuring projects meet specific outcomes, adhere to time-bound milestones, and produce high-quality deliverables.
  • Manage people and performance for all direct reports, providing consistent coaching, direction, guidance, and consultation to promote continuous professional development.
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders to optimize business outcomes and enhance project delivery efficiency.
  • Oversee the capital planning process in partnership with the portfolio manager, Business Operations and Finance, ensuring effective allocation and management of project budgets.
  • Lead and facilitate the development of a service-oriented and success-driven culture within the IT PMO, emphasizing continuous improvement and excellence in service delivery.
QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a leader in an organization undergoing larger transformation initiatives.
  • Experience in leading a PMO, particularly in overseeing enterprise and clinical technology projects, programs, and release management.
  • Experience in program and project management techniques, best practices, process improvement, portfolio health and management, and related methodologies.
  • Experience in strategic planning, execution, budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master’s degree in business administration.
  • Project Management Professional or equivalent certification.
  • Experience in an academic medical center or a large health center or a life science organization.
  • PMO Expertise: Expertise in leading a PMO, particularly in overseeing enterprise and clinical technology projects, programs, and release management.
  • Management Skills: Proficiency in program and project management techniques, best practices, process improvement, portfolio health and management, and related methodologies.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build and foster strong working relationships across departments, influence change, challenge the status quo, and share best practices for strategic and organization-wide impact.
  • Strategic Execution: Proven experience in strategic planning, execution, budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication and facilitation skills with the ability to influence effectively when needed.
  • Innovative Thinking: Recognized as a thought leader in the project management space, with a growth mindset and a commitment to staying current with industry best practices and standards.
  • Results-Driven: Results-oriented with the capability to effectively manage problems and competing priorities.
  • Leadership Qualities: Demonstrated record of confident leadership, sound judgment, creativity, and commitment to excellence.
