- Lead mechanical/HVAC system design for pharmaceutical, biotech, and life-science facilities, including: - Cleanrooms (ISO 5–8 classifications) - GMP warehouses and production areas - BSL-2/BSL-3 laboratories - Utilities (chilled water, steam, compressed air, purified water, WFI, etc.)
- Prepare and oversee technical deliverables (design calculations, system narratives, drawings, specifications).
- Collaborate with architects, electrical engineers, process engineers, and construction partners to ensure fully coordinated designs.
- Provide technical leadership through all project phases: concept, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
- Ensure designs meet cGMP, FDA, DEA, NFPA, ASHRAE, and other applicable standards.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate existing conditions, support commissioning, and resolve field issues.
- Lead client meetings and present technical solutions clearly and professionally.
- Mentor and develop junior mechanical engineers and designers, fostering technical growth and quality standards within the team.
- Support business development by providing input on proposals, project scopes, schedules, and fee estimates.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 10–15 years of progressive mechanical engineering experience, with at least 5 years in life-sciences, pharmaceutical, or biotech facility design.
- Proven experience leading mechanical/HVAC design for cleanrooms, GMP environments, and specialized utilities.
- Strong knowledge of cGMP regulations, FDA/EMA requirements, and industry best practices.
- Excellent coordination skills across multiple disciplines and stakeholders.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading design teams.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and related design tools.
