PurposeTo provide clinical assessment, examination, and treatment for women in need of Maternal Fetal Medicine services in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.ResponsibilitiesObtain patient history and perform assessment via observation, interview and examinationProvide quality care and conduct diagnostic testing in accordance with evidence-based clinical guidelinesInterpret antenatal testing (e.g. non-stress tests)Participate in ongoing quality assurance audits and provide real-time feedback to improve patient careWork collaboratively with a team of physicians, associate providers and other stakeholders to provide comprehensive clinical careEnsure continuous flow of communication with leadership of clinic to enhance quality of healthcare services to patientsProvide patient navigation to provide seamless care coordination between inpatient and outpatient settingsParticipate in the education of medical students, OB/GYN residents, and fellowsSupport and participate in research initiatives within the divisionOther related functions assignedRequired QualificationsMaster’s degree in nursing, science, or equivalent degree and a minimum of three years’ experience as a nurse practitioner or physician’s assistant. A license to practice in the state of Texas. Three years’ experience in providing Maternal Fetal Medicine care. Requires strong problem-solving skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced practice environment; ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients.Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.Preferred QualificationsDoctoral degree in nursing, science or equivalent degree and five years of experience providing obstetrical care.
