Summary/ObjectiveThe Estimator develops project estimates and schedules for civil construction projects ($2M-$40M), interprets contract requirements, and mentors junior team members. Experience in heavy highway, earthwork, bridge, and utility construction required.Essential Functions- Interpret bid documents and construction plans.- Conduct quantity takeoffs from project plans.- Define project scope and required disciplines.- Identify subcontractor roles and DBE participation to meet project goals.- Identify constructability issues and value engineering opportunities.- Coordinate pre-bid activities and owner inquiries.- Prepare and review project estimates and schedules ($2M-$40M).- Mentor junior estimators.- Create and deliver project bid packages.-Oversee junior estimators.Required Education and Experience- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field (preferred).- 4-10 years of civil construction estimating experience.- Familiarity with Department of Transportation specifications.- Experience using HeavyBid or similar estimating software.Preferred Education and Experience- Experience in heavy highway, earthwork, bridge, and utility construction.- Prior work with NCDOT, SCDOT.Benefits- Competitive compensation.- Comprehensive health, vision, and dental insurance.- FSA program.- 401K with 4% company match.
