Summary
The position is responsible for providing leadership and direction to branch staff in developing strategy and
implementing actions plans to meet corporate priorities. Responsible for total management involvement in all
aspects of branch operations to include sales, service and administrative functions to achieve profitability and
growth of the business.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Revenue Responsibility:
Responsible for implementing programs designed to meet or exceed Corporate objectives in all areas of
branch business; revenue, sales and margins.
  • Fiscal Responsibility:
Responsible for managing the branch to an approved financial plan which includes operating expenses,
accounts receivable/collections, labor/compensation costs and inventory.
  • Customer Development:
Responsible for the identification, selection and development of potential new and existing customers,
e.g. electricians, architects, general contractors, property management, RMR acquisitions, commercial
and residential end users. Has emphasis on expanding customer base.
  • Customer Satisfaction:
Responsible for maintaining on-going/two-way communications with customers through staff from initial
contact through order, installation and service. Ensure contractual obligations are met, to include
maintaining ensuring inspections are current. Actively participates in quickly resolving customer
problems, thereby minimizing customer concerns and attrition.
  • Productivity Improvement:
Responsible for setting fair and manageable sales and service coverage. Ensures that performance
measures and goals are assigned and employees are motivated to achieve and exceed objectives.
Responsible for professional, timely and effective completion of employee performance appraisals,
progressive counseling and rewards as improvement tools. Works with Human Resources and advised
of updates needed for job descriptions and job competencies as positions change and develop.
  • Employee Development:
Organize, develop and empower an effective team to grow the business. Sets measurable performance
goals and evaluates achievement of goals. Responsible for hiring quality individuals who possess the
necessary skills, knowledge and abilities for the open job under the guidelines established by Human
Resources. Identifies areas such as sales skills, business and product knowledge, where training and
development will enhance the branch's opportunity to meet current and future business needs. Develop
on-going/two-way communications with employees, which is designed to foster a positive employee
workplace and reduce unwarranted attrition. Responsible for assisting in meeting equal employment
opportunity/affirmative action program goals and objectives. Abides by Federal, State and local laws
and regulations as well as Company policies and procedures.
  • Safety Compliance:
Accountability for employee and office compliance with corporate safety programs. Responsible for
ensuring that employee safety training is through, complete and up to date within corporate time tables.
Identifies safety hazards and issues and notifies corporate safety committees for recommendations and
corrective actions. Implements safety recommendations and corrective actions in a timely manner.
Actively works with Safety Committee and Human Resources Manager(s) to maintain branch and
subcontractor compliance with OSHA, Company Safety and Hazard Communication Policies.
  • Position Responsibility:
Represents the organization professionally at all times. Demonstrates effective leadership skills.
Strives continually to improve and encourages personnel to improve processes and relationships
through Kaizen suggestions and all other methods established. Prepares appropriate annual, monthly
and weekly plans and ensures that each person understands the will fit into those plans. Set reasonable goals with deadlines for completion and monitor the compliance with such plans and
achievement of such deadlines. Self-starter, entrepreneurial with hands on approach towards business.
Other Duties
Ensures personnel submit time and attendance through assigned attendance program(s). Ensures timely
submission of payroll to Human Resources for processing. Prepares electronic correspondence, reports and
other forms of written communication. Adhere to and enforces personnel adherence to the Code of Conduct,
Non-Disclosure and Confidentiality policies. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor degree preferably in a business or engineering discipline or equivalent combination of education and
experience. Minimum of 5-8 years in the fire/security protection* industry with management experience.
Demonstrated management/leadership abilities to include training, team building, presentation and negotiation
skills, branch administration, and effective interaction with customer/company management. Ability to define
problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and extensive variety of
technical instructions and deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables. Ability to read, analyze and
interpret bid documents, CAD drawings, schematics, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond
to common inquires or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, potential customers and any other
as assigned. Must read and speak English. Must be able to type proficiently and have working knowledge of
MS Office products. Complies with all applicable safety, environment, health and waste management policies
and procedures. U.S. Citizenship or permanent residency is required.
Certificates/Licenses
Notary Public or ability to obtain one. **Utah Only - Burglar Alarm Company Agent License. Must possess a
valid Driver's license with a good driving record. Ability to be insured under all company insurance policies.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the branch. Responsible for ensuring
accuracy, quality and timeliness of all functions. Implements new processes and policies through training and
corrective actions. Provides counseling and performance reviews to subordinates periodically as needed and
as company policy dictates. Is available to help resolve conflicting objectives. Reinforce continuously
respectful communication between all positions. Manages and develops supervisor(s) who supervise(s)
employees.
Physical Demands
Position involves prolonged sitting and keyboard use. Occasionally may be required to lift/carry 15 pound boxes
from floor to table height. Must be able to use multi-line phones, cell and data systems. Failure to meet these
requirements may result in withdrawal of employment or other employment action.

Ensures that all branch personnel understands the overall objectives as well as their individual departmental
objectives and that they work together to achieve the stated objectives. Receives training from Corporate
Managers for company updates and changes as required. Participates in scheduled training as both a
participant and a facilitator. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
Decision Making
Manager has authority to initiate actions and make decisions within the established guidelines or policy set by
the corporate office with regular direction and review from Executive Management.
Financial Responsibilities
Exercises necessary cost control measures. Responsible for all capital assets of the branch. Manager is an
approved signer on the branch expense account. Ensures accounting of all receipts associated with checks
written and providing the monthly check reconciliation spreadsheet to the Controller no later than the 9th of the
following month. Branches outside of Ogden will deposit any check over $3,000 scan an email a copy of the
check and deposit to the CFO and forward originals to the Controller. Responsible for notifying CFO if
additional checks/deposit slips need ordering. Responsible for stocking petty cash receipts and forwarding petty
cash advances (payroll earning/deduction) for technicians to Human Resources. Responsible for ensuring the
branch provides all data necessary for the Collections Department to meet the DSO targets as set by the CFO.
Ensures all compensation reviews are completed and submitted to committee ensuring fair wages in compliance
with job banding, certification and job competencies.
Communication
Excellent communication skills required due to the need to work with all vendors, technicians, sales, and
administration; external and internal customers. Maintains customer confidence by keeping service and account
information confidential.
Result of Action
Meets or exceeds the expectations of the General Manager Scorecard. Accomplishes company goals by
completing related tasks as needed. Ability to suggest improved methods and techniques.
