- Assists in interviews and helps facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants
- Assists Human Resources with employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations in accordance with company policy
- Oversees the daily activities of team members
- Ensure sufficient operations staffing by creating schedules or implementing alternative coverage
- Resolve customer service issues
- Coordinate with employees and contractors to determine and resolve priority vehicle and facility maintenance issues
- Maintain accountability of the state of the training vehicles, equipment, and facilities; including identifying symptoms of maintenance concerns, determining the operational status of vehicles, purchasing supplies, or submitting repair orders.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure direction, alignment, and commitment with organizational goals.
- Documents, maintains, and/or distributes administrative records according to organizational policy and procedures
- Ensures that training materials and programs are current, accurate, and effective
- Identifies problems and opportunities such as operational changes or industry developments that training could improve
- Identifies gaps in team knowledge or skill, and implements training that addresses them.
- Conducts individual and team performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
- Conducts or facilitates CDL training, that includes but is not limited to pre-trip inspection, advising parking maneuvers, etc.
- Operate CDL Vehicles along scheduled routes (i.e. tractor trailers, busses, bobtail trucks, etc.)
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to moderate large groups
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented
- Knowledge of safety and operational principles of CDL vehicles
- Thorough understanding of training processes
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, or related software
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Commercial Drivers License Class A and clean driving record required
- Valid Motor Vehicle Instructors License required; candidates who do not currently possess a valid MVC instructors License will be assisted in acquiring it upon employment.
- At least two years of experience in training with one year of supervisory experience required
- Bachelor's degree in Communications or related area preferred
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to climb in and out of trucks and buses
- Prolonged ability to stand
- Prolonged periods of riding in a vehicle
- Physical ability to operate a vehicle
- Ability to look beneath trucks and buses
- Ability to see near and far details
- Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds at a time
- Perform work with OSHA required PPE; Including COVID19 PPE
