Position Summary:The Mechanical Engineer Co-Op will be responsible for assisting the Product Development team with design and development of medical devices, as well as supporting sustaining engineering activities for launched products in the Trauma Portfolio.Essential Functions:Designing and developing instruments and implantsUsing CREO and VISIO software to update CAD models, engineering drawings, and manufacturing proceduresWorking with in-house prototype shop and outside vendors for rapid prototyping and evaluationPerforming design verification and validation activities to ensure designs meet specificationsCollaborating with in-house engineers, surgeons, and outside vendors to ensure high quality productsAssisting with the creation of project plans and Design history Files (DHF) for each projectPartnering with engineers on all aspects of various projectsAssisting with marketing and product managers to develop forecasts and market plansEnsures all systems are run according to manufacturer instructions, Safety requirements and guidelines, and SOPsAdheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies.
