- Plans, schedules, assigns and supervises the work of journey-level workers of various building trades involving substation construction
- Reviews staff's in-progress work for adherence to job specifications, safety policies, and project timelines
- Estimates costs, manpower need, and time necessary for completion of various projects
- Coordinates work with other General Foreman
- Prepares job specifications, sketches, and progress reports on current construction projects
- Interprets and explains specifications, blueprints, and work projects with assigned staff
- Ensures that staff is supplied with tools, materials, and equipment for completion of assigned projects
- Instructs and advises staff on changes in policies, procedures, and work standards
- Directs and/or provides training to trade staff
- Construction, maintenance, alteration, and repair of substation sites
- Current practices, materials, hand and power tools, and equipment used in substation construction
- Methods and procedures used in planning and scheduling of substation construction activities
- Safety regulations and practices pertinent to the construction industry
- Principles of supervision and training
- Recordkeeping procedures
- Methods and procedures used in planning construction projects
- Various computer application capabilities
- 8+ years construction experience with 3+ years being in a Superintendent/Leadership capacity working on substation projects
- Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others, both individually and in a team environment
