- Provide leadership to facilitate effective patient/resident care delivery
- Monitor the condition of patients/residents under their charge, recognize changes in patient condition, implement appropriate interventions, continuity of care, and patient/resident safety
- Conform to all regulatory guidelines, ensure adherence to the facility's policies, and maintain compliance with standards of practice and ethics
- Delegate unit and patient/resident responsibilities to nursing staff
- Report concerns about patient/resident care, the work environment, or co-worker performance to management personnel in a timely fashion
- Educate nursing staff regarding the use of all equipment and supplies, safe patient handling techniques, safety procedures, and infection control
- Correspond with physicians to ensure that all information is readily available to patient/resident care providers
- Participate in admission and discharge process for patient/resident
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Respect for the privacy, dignity, and confidentiality of all residents
- 3 years of experience in nursing is preferred but not required
- 1+ year experience in long term care and/or acute care preferred
