
Quality Control Technician

- Collect samples, perform tests, and record values.
- Manage raw materials, including assigning lot numbers, re-qualifying, evaluating shelf life, and disposal.
- Oversee retain inventory and dispose of products according to established guidelines.
- Troubleshoot out-of-specification inks, whether in-process or returned.
- Approve batches or accept raw materials into inventory after successful testing.
- Use Process Pro to record quality control specifications per batch.
- Utilize Excel to document raw materials' quality control specifications per lot and receive raw materials into PPRO in collaboration with the purchasing agent.
- Perform maintenance and calibrations on laboratory equipment.
- Maintain lab supplies inventory.
- Create small batches as needed.
- Bachelor of Science with 1-2 years of experience within a laboratory setting, or a High School Diploma with 5-7 years of laboratory experience.
- Strong organizational, meticulous, and detail-oriented skills.
- Understanding of 'cause and effect', especially the impact of chemicals on ink properties.
- Excellent written communication skills for clear documentation of activities with each sample.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal and external team members for problem resolution.
- Proficiency in operating lab equipment safely, including scales, viscometers, conductivity meters, energy curable light sources (UV, LED, E-beam), FTIR, refractive index, and colorimeters.
- Familiarity with MS Office programs, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Basic math skills and the ability to use conversion formulas.
- Capability to troubleshoot problems to some degree.
