Categories: Drexel University, AthleticsJob SummaryAssistant Coach for Rowing will assist the Director of Rowing in coaching the women's rowing program. The Coach will conduct practice sessions, recruit potential student-athletes to Drexel, repair and maintain equipment, assist with team travel, and support the administering of all aspects of a Division I program.Essential Functions
  • Assist the Director in coaching an effective varsity athletic program in all aspects.
  • Conduct practice sessions and other coaching duties as assigned by the Director of Rowing.
  • Assist in the teaching, coaching, training, and motivating the program's student-athletes to perform at the highest level through organized and individual team sessions.
  • Help foster an environment within the program that supports the department's mission of personal growth and integrity, diversity, leadership, sportsmanship, respect, and a commitment to academic and athletic excellence.
  • Knowing and abiding by NCAA, CAA and University rules and regulations.
  • Assist with all recruiting events, videos, packets, ARMS database management, recruiting organization.
  • Responsible for repairing and maintaining equipment.
  • Act as liaison for Boathouse Manager and assist with boathouse maintenance and take lead for all operations of home races.
  • Act as liaison to University Operations staff and boathouse row officials.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Rowing that enhance the goals and aspirations of the program.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Please review the
for additional information.) * Minimum of 2 years of coaching and/or playing experience.
  • Level 2 US Rowing Certification.
  • Valid Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Successful collegiate coaching experience.
  • Collegiate Rowing or coxswain experience.
  • Experience with trailer and equipment transport.
