To prepare detailed fabrication and erection drawings for BrandSafway’s Applications, with a specific focus on construction hoist run-back platform structures, scaffold systems, and other temporary access structures. This role emphasizes drafting, steel detailing, and coordination, with secondary responsibilities supporting engineering design and calculations.Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed fabrication, shop, and erection drawings for steel assemblies and access structures using Autodesk Advance Steel, AutoCAD, and Revit.
- Develop connection details, bills of materials, and cut lists for fabrication shops. Ensure all drawings comply with engineering standards, codes, and company guidelines.
- Coordinate with fabrication shops, field supervisors, and engineering teams to ensure constructability, accuracy, and timely delivery of projects.
- Revise and update drawings based on engineering feedback, field conditions, and client requirements.
- Maintain organized drawing submittals and revision control through CAD/PDM systems.
- Provide support during fabrication and erection, including resolving drawing or dimensional issues in the shop or on-site.
- Assist application engineers by preparing erection drawings, scaffold/hoist layouts, fabrication details, and assembly instructions.
- Gain expertise in BrandSafway’s product lines to accurately draft and document access solutions.
- Support engineering staff with preparation of calculation packages (STAAD, RISA, Tedds, Enercalc, Excel, etc.) when required.
- Must be safety-minded and comply with all safety protocols within the work environment.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering Technology or equivalent drafting/design experience.
- 2+ years of experience as a steel detailer, engineering drafter, or designer, preferably with experience in a steel fabrication shop environment.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Advance Steel, AutoCAD, and Revit required.
- Familiarity with fabrication processes, welding, bolted connections, and shop practices strongly preferred.
- Basic knowledge of engineering software such as STAAD, RISA, TEDDS, and ENERCALC a plus, but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills necessary along with a customer service focus.
- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage drawing sets, revisions, and multiple projects simultaneously.
