- Develops and maintains aviation mission planning software applications and specialized utility programs
- Analyzes user needs and Change Requests (CRs) to develop software solutions and extract requirements
- Collaborates with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and internal/external teams for requirements gathering and support
- Revises, updates, refactors and debugs existing code while maintaining compatibility with legacy systems
- Optimizes application performance and ensures code quality, security and adherence to coding standards
- Develops comprehensive software design documentation and GUI updates throughout the SDLC
- Implements high-quality code primarily in C#, Java, .NET
- Creates mission planning capabilities using C# with emphasis on scalable, maintainable solutions
- Works individually or as part of a team to analyze and design databases within application areas
- Participates in Agile/Scrum/SAFe development processes and ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups and retrospectives
- Learns and implements Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) requirements and P-8 mission specifications
- Understands aviation-specific data formats, security protocols and operational constraints
- Supervises computer programmers
- BS/BA Degree in a Computer, Information Science or relevant technical discipline; AA/AS Degree with 4 years of relevant work experience or no Degree with 6 years of relevant work experience may qualify
- 3 years of relevant work experience
- 3 years of experience with:
- C#, Java and .NET
- Software design principles and patterns
- DevSecOps practices and tools such as SonarQube
- Containerization technologies
- Working in an Agile development environment
- Web Development and SPA Single page application
- Experience using Microsoft Office suite programs such as MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and SharePoint
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including verbal, non-verbal, written and listening
- The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance-Secret Clearance required to start
- Experience with SPLUNK
- Experience with Kubernetes
