- 3 – 5 years’ experience in sourcing with specific expertise in retail store supplies, office/janitorial/breakroom supplies, warehousing/distribution center supplies, Point of Sale (POS) packaging, industrial packaging, and/or transit packaging.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field, preferred or equivalent experience.
- Industry certifications such as Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Senior Professional in Supply Management (SPSM) highly desired.
- Proven track record leading business process re-engineering to streamline processes and deliver value.
- Experience implementing and leading an organization via best in class change management protocol; work experience in international matrix organizations across functions and cultures is preferred.
- Familiarity with Sarbanes Oxley, Social Responsibility, and Sustainability.
- Excellent communication, analytical, leadership and negotiating skills.
- Experience in sourcing globally.
- Ability to travel, as needed.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies to minimize costs, leverage volumes, mitigate risk, improve product/service quality, and drive efficiencies to meet business needs.
- Develop global and regional sourcing strategies. Conduct advanced data analytics, cost modeling, and Total Cost of Ownership analysis to drive sourcing and negotiating strategies.
- Own commercial relationships with supply partners. Establish/adhere to supplier qualification protocols. Execute supplier identification and vetting measures. Partner with quality and compliance organization to qualify suppliers. Conduct factory visits/inspections to measure operational capabilities and product compliance. Select, develop, and manage supply partners to meet cost and performance goals. Manage the supplier base through business reviews and supplier scorecards.
- Demonstrate supplier optimization methodologies. Determining when products should be single- vs dual-sourced, as well as regionally vs globally sourced to deliver the lowest overall cost while assuring supply. Identify opportunities to leverage scale and existing supply relationships.
- Deliver agreements to meet short-, mid-, and long- term business needs. Agreements are to include excellent pricing models, measurable service level/performance criteria, effective remedies for non-performance, mechanisms for monitoring performance/remedies, etc. v Agreements need to deliver the lowest total cost for materials and services while allowing flexibility to adapt to changing customer requirements.
- Partner with Legal, Risk Management, and Tax team to ensure negotiations result in optimal terms.
- Provide regular updates of key projects for customers and the internal Executive team.
- Collaborate with Business Development and Account Management teams to understand customer budgets, business needs, preferences, etc. to develop sourcing strategies, identify supply partners, and respond to RFPs. Seamlessly transition customer program requirements to the Purchasing, Logistics, and Distribution Center teams upon account acquisition.
- This role can require travel to domestic and international locations; estimated at/around 15%.
